Sofistic.AI Names Christopher Baron Chief Executive Officer
Sofistic.AI appoints Christopher Baron as Chief Executive Officer, Denis Gauthier transitions to Co-Chair of the Board, and Étienne Veilleux, previously Chairman, moves to Executive Chair.
MONTRÉAL — June 23, 2026 — Sofistic.AI, an AI-native wealth management platform, today announced the appointment of Christopher Baron as Chief Executive Officer. Denis Gauthier, who led Sofistic.AI as the previous CEO, transitions to Co-Chair of the Board. Alongside him, Étienne Veilleux, previously Chairman, assumes the role of Executive Chair.
The leadership transition caps a milestone year for Sofistic.AI. Earlier in 2026, the company secured $6.8 million in funding — including an investment from Investissement Québec’s Impulsion fund — to fuel its next stage of growth. Today, the platform serves wealth advisors and financial institutions across Canada and internationally. Baron takes the helm to scale operations and introduce a new era of AI-driven solutions tailored to complex wealth management. Meanwhile, Gauthier moves to the board while remaining actively engaged with the clients and partners he has dedicated the past three years to building relationships with.
Over the past few years, the Sofistic.AI team has built a next-generation platform designed to simplify holistic portfolio management. In an industry often constrained by fragmented data sources and manual processes, Sofistic.AI provides strategic insights and client-centric tools that elevate wealth management and streamline advisor-client interactions.
A Board Built to Scale
Étienne Veilleux transitions from Chairman to Executive Chair, where his mandate will focus on corporate governance and board leadership, ensuring the company’s ethical management tools continue to be built with and for advisors globally.
“Through personal experience, I have seen how difficult it is to get a truly unified view of a wealth portfolio,” said Étienne Veilleux, Executive Chair of Sofistic.AI. “With Sofistic.AI, our goal is to provide a platform where advisors can securely enhance their capabilities using AI, allowing them to shift their primary focus back to their clients’ needs. As a serial entrepreneur, I am confident and excited to have Christopher join the team and lead them to success.”
The incoming CEO, Christopher Baron, brings deep industry expertise from the wealth and asset management sectors. He previously spent several years at Invesco, where he managed a prominent client portfolio and gained firsthand insight into the daily complexities and regulatory hurdles faced by financial advisors. Additionally, his background as a venture capital investor gives him a proven understanding of startup growth and scaling company culture — skills he will leverage to maximize Sofistic.AI’s operational potential.
As CEO, Baron will lead corporate operations and drive the strategic vision for Sofistic.AI as it scales its technology for global adoption.
“I started my career working directly with financial advisors to optimize wealth portfolios, which gave me a clear view of how difficult it is to extract actionable insights from disconnected data,” said Christopher Baron, Chief Executive Officer of Sofistic.AI. “Weighed down by regulatory requirements and manual workflows, advisors are often pulled away from what matters most: their client relationships. Sofistic.AI is changing that by automating workflows and generating insights that help advisors scale their books of business and deliver highly personalized advice. I am incredibly confident in the strong foundation Denis and the team have built, and I am thrilled to lead Sofistic.AI into its next chapter of global growth.”
The structural changes take effect immediately in June 2026. For clients and partners, the product roadmap, operational commitments, and core team remain completely unchanged.
